Artist's Statement

Our family includes my wife Susan Bartholomew and son Ryan Creedon. We reside at the base of Mt. Tamalpais among the redwood trees in the Madrone Canyon area of old town Larkspur, California.

For many years I've worked as a Fine Art Photographer and Digital Imaging Consultant helping artists sort out individual digital imaging needs. With the addition of my Digital Printing Services I've found that many artists new to this medium are better able to meet the needs of their clients through my consulting and printing services.

Over the past 20 years I have taught photography at a variety of venues including The Friends of Photography, The College of San Mateo and The San Francisco Art Institute. In 2001 I joined the Faculty at The San Francisco Art Institute teaching various digital fine art printing classes including " The Handcrafted Book and Digital Print", " Polaroid Manipulation/Transfers and The Digital Print" and " Fine Art Digital Imaging". Along with Professor Jack Fulton and other SFAI Faculty I've worked tirelessly creating and designing course outlines for Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Digital Photography classes helping meet the expanding needs of the SFAI Photography Department. I'll be teaching the first of these new courses " Introduction to Digital Photography" this Fall at SFAI.

Color and Black & White prints are made using an Epson 9600 printer with Ultrachrome inks. Any properly profiled paper for the Epson 9600/Ultrachrome inks can be used to make fine art prints. Black & White prints are made using the Open Print Maker or Quadtone RIP software. My paper preferences are Hahnehmuhle German Etching and Photo Rag, Epson Fine Art Smooth and Moab Fine Art Natural.

Since 1984 I've continued to document the Mission Bay Area of San Francisco. The urban development of this 300+ acre site has slowly evolved over the past 20+ years as the political and economic wind swirls over this proposed City within the City.

I continue working in series format with "The Garden Series", "Feather Series" and "Mandala Series". This body of work is coupled with my continuing landscapes that span a timeframe from 1977 to the present.
