Artist's Statement

Our family includes my wife Susan Bartholomew and son Ryan Creedon. We reside at the base of Mt. Tamalpais among the redwood trees in the Madrone Canyon area of old town Larkspur, California.

I'm on the faculty of the San Francisco Art Institute and teach both film based and digital photography. I also consult with various schools helping to formulate film and digital programs and consult with companies about issues related to digital imaging in the workplace. Over the past few years I've concentrated on digital imaging and have traveled throughout the US and Europe to speak at forums which includes photographic conventions and private workshops.

Color prints are made with an Epson 9000 printer. Generations Pigment inks are used on Brightcube Vienna (Hahnemuhle German Etching) and Epson Fine Art Smooth papers. These are my preferred inkset/paper combinations for color prints.

Black and White prints are made with Epson 3000 and 1160 printers. MIS/FS BW Carbon Pigment inks are used on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag and Epson Fine Art Smooth paper. These are my preferred inkset/paper combination for quadtone carbon pigment black and white prints.

Print sizes range from 8x10, 11x14, 16x20 to 10x40 Panoramas using Carbon Pigment Inks for Black and White output. Color prints include these sizes and sizes up to 44x90 inches on the Epson 9000 printer using Generations Pigment Inks. All prints are matted using 100% cotton Light Impression 4 ply boards with prints being tipped in with Light Impression archival corners and linen tape.

In 2001 my work ranged from intimate Carbon Pigment Black and White images in France and England to large-scale color prints from a series of images made in New York.
Continuing work relating to color images are of still life subject matter such as "The Garden Series","Feather Series" and "Mandala Series". This body of work is coupled with landscapes and nudes that span a timeframe from 1977 to the present.

I've documented the Mission Bay Area of San Francisco since 1984 and continue to do so to this day. The urban development of this 200+ acre site has slowly evolved over the past 18 years as the political and economic wind
swirls over this proposed city within the city.
